The Big Picture
Corporate conference and team building art challenge
|
Description
After a morning conference and a delicious lunch, it's a great idea to follow on with a fun team building event. The aim is for the whole group to create a giant size replica of a famous painting. You don't have to be a skilled artist to take part, because part of the overall challenge involves completing a series of mini challenges which involve logical quizzes, puzzles, mental challenges, visual tasks and some engineering. Your group will be split into small teams of six to eight and each team works on their own canvas. Teams will not just need to paint, they will need to collect information, blue prints and paints to help them in their quest to complete the painting. At the end of the session the individual canvases will be joined together to create a famous painting. The objectives are to highlight the need to be aware of the bigger picture rather than focusing on individual tasks, to build trust between people who work together, and to demonstrate issues related to team dynamics, problem solving, time management, organisation and leadership under time constraints. The Big Picture activity will last between one and three hours, although extra challenges can be added to extend the time of the overall challenge. Likewise, if you wish to include something more physical or outdoors-based, it can be arranged. |
