Our client, an IT and Communications service provider, wanted to impress their staff with a Christmas party like no other.
Having experienced numerous themed parties in the past, the client wanted something new and quirky that would keep guests guessing right up to the night of the party itself. The party was to be held on the most popular Friday night in December in a unique and eye-catching setting to surprise their guests with a fun and interactive experience never seen before.
Brimming with ideas on how to create a tantalizing and spectacular party that was completely different to anything that had been done before; our client discussed the options with their dedicated account manager. The client selected ‘The Chocolate Factory’ as their final choice because it was completely unique and would keep guests guessing right up until the night. What did it mean? Where were they going? The intrigue of the theme gave us the creative licence to create a fun and interactive setting totally unique to this event.
Once the theme was selected, the venue had to match the theme’s wow-factor value and bring a sense of style and sophistication to the evening’s itinerary of fun and interactive entertainment. With less than 12 weeks til the party season commences, the challenge of finding a large enough, impressive enough venue was met with great enthusiasm from the entire team at Millennia Events and all available resources were poured into shortlisting suitable properties that matched our very specific criteria. The stunning Cheltenham Town Hall was selected for its stunning architecture and wow-factor Corinthian columns and cove ceilings. It was clear this venue would bring the grandeur and sophistication to this fun evening event.
Our theme designers sketched out their impression of the venue styled with a Wonka Factory twist using a kaleidoscope of colourful props and lighting. The expansive Grand Hall made the perfect backdrop to our quirky and interesting props. Through iconic Wonka Factory gates, via scratch-and-sniff wallpaper, guests were transported into a surreal landscape carpeted in grass walkways with larger-than-life luminous toadstools, candy canes and lollipops.
Once the theme had been chosen it was time to decide on entertainment and little touches that would make the evening extra special, keeping in mind the event budget we were working to. Our client’s request for a giant floor piano set the tone for the entertainment and the evening was filled with fun and interactive elements including a Willy Wonka character meet and greet, accompanied by two Oompa Loompas who mingled with guests and posed for photos, followed by a choreographed floor show during dinner. Guests could help themselves to the sweet treats on offer including edible table centres, candy floss and popcorn stalls and the indulgent luxury chocolate fountain. The night reached its climax on the dance floor with the fantastic live party band, followed by the professional DJ who lured guests from their seats and on to the psychedelic LED dance floor.
Guests were invited to the event with bespoke golden tickets which were designed by our in-house team with the company branding in mind.
The event was met with excitement and anticipation as the theme revealed itself on the night in all its wild and colourful glory. Guests embraced the theme whole heartedly and a fun and memorable evening was had in the interactive and vibrant surroundings of this unforgettable party.
